I loved this shirt design and hoped it would get printed but its the same concept, we have cross like structures in our body called laminen that hold us together. Jesus is our force our strength our shield, http://www.canvasthreads.com/DesignDetails.aspx?id=8183

plus if you look at the shirt shane shared on this post, you would see its the same concept, are you disturbed that they printed that one >?
I am going to make changes in the colors I chose from red to green but i strongly disagree with you. Jesus is what holds us together, the reason to live and so on
You make springs gush forth in the valleys;
they flow between the hills;
they give drink to every beast of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell;
they sing among the branches.
From your lofty abode you water the mountains;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
You cause the grass to grow for the livestock
and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth
and wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine
and bread to strengthen man's heart.
The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly,
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
In them the birds build their nests;
the stork has her home in the fir trees.
The high mountains are for the wild goats;
the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers. (Psalms 104:10-18). Sounds like the energy that holds the world together to me.
love the idea behind his one but the message is very wrong. Jesus is not the energy that holds the world together like in starwars but our savior and friend. please take this down it disturbs me and is only going to confuse young christians. God bless caleb
I'd like to interject an analogy that works with the red and blue sabers. The darkness was defeated on the cross by the light. There was a spiritual battle on that cross. Look at Galatians 3:13 and 2 Cor 5:21. In his righteousness, Jesus was made a curse and became sin for us. So in a way the design validly represents the collision of darkness and light. I agree with Troy about using a reference to the Dark Side falling at the cross because it brings up the conflict that did happen there.
I'd like to take this time and say I've never watched one single Star Wars in my entire life. But Star Wars sells...period. I agree with the experts, but left alone...it will sell, changed...it will sell.
Blue, Red, and Green are the common ones. So blue and green would represent good, while still providing variation.
There are blue and green lightsabers in the movies. Yoda's, Qui-Gon Jinn's, and even Luke's second lightsaber is green. There are even a couple purple and yellow. These are all Jedi lightsabers. But red is reserved for the dark side, ie Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Darth Sidious, etc.
strongly disagree shane. jesus is not "the force" of the "dark side". the red saber represents evil/the dark side. jesus is not made up of both good and evil.
ok even though I can change it if canvas wants I will just so people stop already lol so out of all teh changes mention what does it come down to as to what I should do? I dont like the idea of 2 blue sabers really... but then again would green really look good? Is there a green one in the movie? or should i just change the wors to Jesus defeated the dark side like the top comment/?
Dani, I have to agree with Corey and Tim. The two colors making up the cross are opposing sides in Star Wars. Light and dark can not coexist, that would be "a kingdom divided against itself," so that doesn't make sense. You may reword this as well. Maybe "Jesus defeated the dark side" ?? IDK... something that doesn't put "the force" and Jesus in the same sentence. Another thought is to use a double light saber like Darth Maul's with Hebrews 4:12.
I'd agree strongly with Corey. Applying "the force" to Jesus, just like you would to Luke Skywalker, is not cool, and the different colored lightsabers will throw people off. I will stand by my stance that just because a concept will sell does not mean we should accept it. There are plenty of other ways you could create a Christian lightsaber shirt that aren't this one.
I don't think the color of the sabors matter, it has to do with the Force and Jesus is the power of them all. He is the strongest.I just don't get all the little nit-picking. I think you should just leave it the way it is and if canvas picks it and they want changes they will tell you to change it ;)
His Force would probably sound better. And for Star Wars nerds, like myself, if you replaced the red lightsaber with a green one it would be more aligned toward the light side of the force.
Thanks for the feedback, I am going to read all the comments carefully before considering anything. As of right now I will leave it and see what canvas thinks =]
Maybe with a both sabers in blue and text that reads "His force is stronger" or there abouts.
shane - fair enough, but i do think the wording is different. by changing "the force" to "his force", it completely changes the context. and i still think the fact that a good and evil light saber making up the cross has an odd connotation. but i'm sure the common viewer isn't reading that much into it so i'm sure it'd do fine.
I dont agree with the guy below, the concept and wording is no different from this winnner...
I think canvas would be crazy not to pick this because :
1-STAR WARS SELLS!
2- THERE ARE NO LIGHT SABER ONES, WHICH EVERYONE WOULD LOVE!
3-I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS, ITS PERFECT
also, the fact that the cross is made up of a light saber from both sides of the "force" makes the message unclear as well.
connection is a little too loose. what "force"? the way it is currently stated is suggesting that the force (as referenced in star wars) is strong with jesus. i'm sure that's not what you meant. so i'd consider reworking the wording.
